Chinese herbs and herbal powders available at the clinic

We supply Chinese herbal medicines as part of individualised care. Whether you prefer traditional herbs for decoction or a convenient powdered preparation, contact the clinic to discuss suitability, current availability and pricing before visiting.

Raw Chinese herbs

Traditional Chinese herbal ingredients, also called raw herbs or herbal slices, are selected for an individual prescription. Preparation varies by formula; follow the instructions supplied rather than using a general boiling method.

Herbal powders and extract granules

The clinic also supplies Chinese herbal powders and extract granules. These offer an alternative format to a traditional decoction. The product, dose and preparation instructions depend on your prescription; powders and raw herbs are not interchangeable gram for gram.

A consultation before a prescription

Your consultation considers your health concerns, relevant medical history, allergies, current medicines and supplements. Dr. Li will discuss whether Chinese herbal medicine is suitable and which preparation may fit your circumstances. Herbal medicine may be discussed on its own or alongside acupuncture; a recommendation is based on your assessment.

  1. Discuss your needs. Bring a list of medicines and supplements, and any relevant reports.
  2. Review the proposed formula. Ask about ingredients, preparation, cost and the intended review period.
  3. Follow your individual directions. Use the labelled dose and storage instructions, and contact the clinic with questions or unwanted effects.

Can I bring an existing prescription?

Please contact the clinic first and bring the complete prescription. We will advise whether it can be supplied and whether a consultation or review is needed.
